Now it its 10th year of existence, the Sac Open Studios Tour (produced by the Verge Center for the Arts) is the largest open studio art event in Sacramento County, spanning two weekends (Sept. 12 to 13 and Sept. 19 to 20) and including artist’s studios and galleries all over the region. The first weekend features artists/galleries west of I-80/Highway 99, and the second weekend features those that are east of I-80/Highway 99. On Thursday, Sept. 10 Verge is hosting the official launch party for Sac Open Studios Tour, where visitors can get a sneak peek of work by all 130-plus artists involved in the tour! Mingle with the artists and spin the Blick Prize Wheel to win T-shirts, paint samples, sketchbooks and more in celebration of event partner Blick Art Supplies’ grand opening of their new store located at 905 Howe Avenue. The launch party runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and admission is free. Verge Center for the Arts is located at 625 S Street.
