It’s no great secret there are more animals in shelters and walking the streets of the Sacramento Valley than our residents know what to do with. Those looking for a new companion should always consider a shelter as their first option for finding that special cat or dog. The kind staff of Sacramento County Animal Care encourage all to come take advantage of their limited $25 adoption special which continues through the end of December. All of their in-house adoptions include a spay/neuter surgery, necessary vaccinations, microchips and even a license for a year. Make sure you have time and patience before considering taking in a first (or second) pet, as these furry friends all require a fair amount of love, attention and affection. You also must be 18 or older to adopt. Spread the word, whether you are in need of a pet or not and, most importantly, help the local Bradshaw Shelter bring the number of cats and dogs housed there back down to a more comfortable level.
