This artist really floats my boat. Her color work is out of sight! At the last Second Saturday I saw that I was not alone in this as many, many lingered contemplating Ms. Blackburns work.

I have known and admired Kathy’s work long before she considered herself an artist. The interview clarified her use of skulls for me. I am also a great admirer of her portraiture & amd fortunate to own one. Thanks for the article!

Congrats on the interview/article Kathy!! That was awesome. Great Q & A. I have deeper understanding behind skull series – which I find absolutely fascinating. Love the artwork displayed – the colors are incredibly vibrant. I am a huge fan of your portraiture which I find hauntingly real; capturing your subject’s essence in their eyes. May you be an art coach and mentor to all artists, reminding us that 1) it’s never too late. 2) strive to grow & experiment….”see what happens”
