Even though their sound generally fits the bill, to call Yo La Tengo an “indie band” would be a great disservice to the legacy they’ve built over their nearly 30-year career amongst their cult-like following. Members Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley and James McNew have forged their own path, landing on critics’ best-of lists countless times, playing the world’s best concert halls and festivals as well as the diviest of dives.
